WHY DOES MY OUTSIDE FAUCET KEEP RUNNING?

A leaking faucet can lead to huge loss of water. One drop of water leakage every minute can fill several gallons every day. This can amount to huge water bills as well. So, if you find a leaking faucet, give a call to a plumbing expert to identify the actual cause and repair it at the earliest.

In case of outdoor faucet, you must inspect the leakage by checking if your outside hose bib runs or not after its handle is shut off. If it does, then either the gasket is damaged and needs to be replaced or the valve seat has become faulty and must be rectified. The seat is the brass opening against which the rubber gasket sits. And, even a minute cut can create a water channel on the surface of the brass. A plumber can suggest you to replace your exterior faucet’s hose bib in case of damaged seat
